Prior to being accepted on the 2017 round of the STLP I had been studying Primary Science Teaching through the Open Polytechnic of NZ. So my interest in making science more relevant and engaging for students has been developing over several years.
Back in term 4 2016 I heard that my school's application had been successful and I was offered a place on the 2017A STLP programme. Royal Society
This week I begin working alongside the team at Wildlands I am very excited to have been placed here as on a personal level I want to gain a deeper understanding of our native flora and fauna. I also believe that at Primary school we should be focusing our planning of Science around the Living World.
